Is there way to create different types of terrains on the same drawing? Can you have two slopes making a valley and then another slope at the back side (see attached). I noticed that when creating slopes TFP automatically levels off the terrain where the slope stops and the apex. Also noticed that if you create additional slopes they will affect the current ones already on the drawing.
But what if I wanted to slope at 33 degrees to a ht of 8' then level off for 30 l.f. and then slope away again creating a swail so to speak???

Hi Mark,
A Terrain can be any shape you want depending on the tool you use.
For a single slope just use the Slope tool, and it will slope between the first and second clicks. If you add a second slope it will add to the first. In other words if the total height of your first slope was 1m (3'), the Terrain at the higher end will be 1m (3') above the bottom end which is zero. If you add a second slope of 1m (3') the higher end of the Terrain will now be 2m (6') high, so a two slopes add to each other.
The same principle works for the other Terrain tools, Hills and Valleys, Berns and Trenches, Plateaus etc. Personally, unless it is a simple one way slope, I only use the Plateau. With this you can set the height of each countour and then just draw the shape of the contours, gradually building up to the total height of the highest point of the Terrain. You can also enter negative heights to lower certain parts. The images demostrate that virtually any shape is achievable. These were both done using the Plateau tool to buildup the higher areas.

Hi Mark,
Make sure to use Window > Tile Open Views by creating a second Model view and have one view in 3D mode , the other in 2D where you can edit your terrian 'lines' and see the results in 3D.
