I see the current version of TurboFloorplan was released close to 1 year ago, can we expect an new release (v17) in the near future?
As a previous licensed user of Floorplan - v9 (2005) is there any upgrade pricing available?
If I were to purchase V16 now and the next version was released within say 1-2 months would we be entitled to a free upgrade to the newer version?
I am trying to make a purchasing decision but will base my decision on the answers to the above - Hold off for the next release, or begin immediately with v16, knowing that I will not be burdened with additional costs in a month or two.

I do not know anything officially so these comments are just based on what has happened previously.
TurboFloorPlan is essentially the 3D component of the parent program Envisioneer and a new version generally follows a couple of months or so after a new release of Envisioneer - V16 released almost exactly two months after the release of Envisioneer 7. So far there is no news of a new release of Envisioneer. Before the current version of Envisioneer was released, they published regular updates of new features over a period of about 6 weeks from early May, to the release at the end of June, so IF they did the same again then we would not expect a new Envisioneer release for at least 6 weeks and then TFP 2 months later (end Sep?).
However, because that was what happened last time does not mean the same will happen again. Releases of Envisioneer have always been (I think) in the US summer. This time they may not provide the 'drip feed' of new features beforehand, but simply release it suddenly, as happened on previous occasions. TFP however was always months later, so this would indicate that it may be at least a couple of months away, even IF Envisioneer 8 was released tomorrow.
In the past IMSI has always offered generous discounts on new releases to those who have the previous version. Last time it was about 30% off the price if I remember correctly. Those with the previous version received an email with the upgrade offer. It was also discounted by about that amount in an email offer just recently, so this may indicate a new relase is pending.
Normally a subsequent version is totally compatable with previous ones (from V12 on), so if you purchased V16 at this time, whatever you create would not be lost if you upgraded to V17 later. Incidentally upgrade is the wrong term. A new version is totally new - it does not overwrite the previous one. You can still run both or all previous versions on your PC but not at the same time of course.
Sorry I can't provide any more specific information to help you decide. The above is just what happened previously, so I hope it helps.
UPDATE: Cadsoft has just announced the release of V8 (just an hour or so after I wrote the above) and is starting a progressive announcement of new features, as they did last time. This would indicate the release can be expected in a few weeks - no date has been given yet. TFP V17 would probably be a couple of months later.

That does seem to indicate that the new release is imminent, I guess it is up to me now to decide whether a 30% discount or exercising a little patience is in my best interests.
