Title: under counter dishwasher
Post by: builderpaul on December 03, 2007, 04:28:08 PM
Can't find an undercounter dishwasher so I altered a 30" (who ever heard of such a size) to work as an undercounter. How do I put a counter top on top of this?
Related to this is how do you extend a countertop over a cab for a small seating area?

There is a 30" Dishwasher 2 in the catalog this is a undercounter dishwasher This is a oversized Dishwasher for US and Canada market I think, normal is 24" or EU-Standard 600 mm, if you search on dishwasher on Goggle you can find a front that you can change to, by save image as....

Thanks for the response. The 30" #2 is the one I changed to a 24". However it doesn't have a counter top attached. Need some way to put a counter top on it. Also need a way to extend a top an additional 12" with nothing under it.

Thanks

In FP11 I always installed a cabinet where I wanted a dishwasher, then inserted a dishwasher in same location with collision "off" and the cabinet sides and top blended well with the cabinets and counter-top....

Have not done so as yet in TFP12 but expect that would work OK

For an extended counter....you could install a cabinet and make the cabinet parts invisible but leave the counter-top in place....but easier may be to use a "cube" (any object such as a stepping stone or similar or the wood board "member") and set size and materials to match and adjust for location in 3D space with other counter-top.

Thanks that does work well but how do I make the cabinet invisible? I only see ways of eliminating the doors and shelfs.

Paul,

You can set any material to transparent by double clicking it and change the Rendering Effects to Transparency-Full - it is well hidden! - see the image.
