Hi - I am new to TFP but fairly familiar with other programs such as autoCAD. The problem I am having with TFP is print scaling. It seems no matter what parameters I choose, the print engine renders the on-screen image the size of a postcard on paper. I am sure I am missing something fundamental, but on the other hand, when I select "Print to Fit Page" I generally expect it to do just that and not reduce the image to the size of a post card. What am I doing wrong?
Cheers
I have not done any print to page as yet....but a similar problem can occur in a screen view....if you zoom to extents/zoom to fit in 2D plan view...does everything get small? If so, you may have a stray object far from the main floorplan.
If not, then its something else I don't know about.
Thanks Doug - for the sugestion... and sorry I took so long to reply. I was having licensing issues for the past few days.
Yes, when I perform a Window Zoom to Fit, the drawing gets much smaller. However, I have tried sweeping all areas outside my drawing and then deleting, but it doesnt seem to catch anything. I have also tried to do a Select All, hoping some color highlights would show up, but that doesnt work either. Do you have any other suggestions for how to make the drawing fill the pallette?
Much Appreciated.
Just how small does the house get?.....perhaps when you zoom to fit view/extents it is simply zooming out to the size of the terrain...and when you go to print or screen "zoom to fit" you are mostly seeing the terrain with a small house?
So suggest you either:
- make the terrain smaller...to just surround the size of the house....I think the default size is 160' x 160'
- go to view manager and terrain tab and "close the eye" to make the terrain not seen....when not seen it should not print and zoom to fit should fill the screen with the house
thus zoom to fit will then either zoom to the much smaller terrain size and house will look bigger or with no terrain it will fit as much of the house as can fit the screen or page shape.
Let us know if this helps or not so can still check other things if this is not the cause/fix.
