I have a fireplace drawn in sketchup file is attached her that I want to import into TFP
when I import the textures are different in TFP if I import without textures I cant add
seperate textures only one texture
If you import any object with textures, the model will then have named domains on which textures live and can be changed.
If the export from SU has no or only one texture/color then there is one domain and in TFP you can apply only one texture.
Normally if SU export does not have its textures applied in TFP, then they got lost or not exported or TFP can't find them. If the SU export has more than one file, be sure all the files are located together in one/same folder when opening/importing .skp in TFP as TFP will try to import the texture files and put them into a library place and apply them OK to the object in TFP.
If the textures from SU are "procedural" and not images such as .jpg, then TFP probably can't use or apply them unless SU converts them to a .jpg image.
Regardless, if the multi-textured object export from SU imports OK, you can apply textures of your choice from within TFP. If the SU textures did not come along for the export/import, and you can find them as .jpg images in SU, you can manually import the .jog images into TFP and apply them in TFP.
If you are still stuck, let people here know, show an SU picture so we know what the textures should be, and a picture from TFP to see what you have, and include SU .skp file and TFP .bld file to assist in fixing the problem.
Attached is a JPEG of the sketchup file
I imported your .skp file into TFP and it looked nearly OK, some textures came thru but many colors did not.
See attached image, go to object properties and apply desired colors from TFP to each part of the object.
If you have trouble with that, see help file. If still a problem, write here again.
Note: many of the colors in SU are different because it shows darkness on top/sides as different colors. You probably want the main exterior of the fireplace as all one color/texture (such as stucco) and let TFP render the shadows and different colors on sides/top etc.
The SKP firelace was OK for me too. When I clicked Mapping on the Brick texture and ticked "Override Tile Size" it was OK, Wood was OK and all the other colours I just changed to the one colour.
Stuck a fire in the back of it just for fun. ;D
