Title: how to insert my house image in the programs ?

i have a pice of land and want to make it green. mostly vegetables and also some trees around the perimeter .
i want to have an idea what it will look like but i dont know how to get the image of the land in the program to process it .

In HELP, read up on Photo Boards. You can then use File > Import> Photo Board and use your image. Of course you should resize it so it is large. But in general you end up with a 'background' type display of your land. You can only place objects in front of the picture...

I have found that using Google Maps sometimes is better. You locate your land on Google and save the image.
Now import the land image but make it lie flat. You can actally assign it as a texture to the terrian.

This flat image when viewed from above looks like your land, and you can actual add trees / plants on top of the image. Even add buildings.

You are in a sort of 'specialized' area in using the program. You will have to do some experimenting.
