Title: Display one floor at a time without elements of other floors
Post by: kdarbela on November 03, 2012, 12:52:54 PM
Hi,

I am new to TFP, and I have created a 2-floor building. However, the elements on the floor below are visible in the view of the first floor (and the other way around), even when I print.

How can I filter (or otherwise) the view so that I just see what is on the selected floor?

Thanks in advance.

Kevin

Hi Kevin,

Welcome to the forum!

The visisility of one floor through the other is by design - otherwise you would not be able to place things on the second floor properly. How much this shows is determined by the 'Dimming Level' which you can set in Settings / Program Settings / Workspace. 80% dimmed is normal but you can change it to whatever you want.

You can also use the View Filter to turn off certain groups of objects or you can tick the box on the upper right and select just certain floors. If choose each floor separately you can click Display All or Display None as you require.

It would be good for you to read through all the options in the Settings menu so that you can see what things can be changed to suit the way you work. The default settings are usually fine but it is good to know what you can change if something does not work the way you would prefer it to.

Hope that helps,

Allan

As Allan has said :

You can use the View Filter
With 'All Locations; checked, you can first click 'Display None'
then uncheck 'All Locations" - Highlight the floor needed (Second Floor) - then click Display All.

With Second floor slected, you can do as Allan said and 'Turn the Eye OFF' for any specific Element (like Roofs, or Members , what ever you like on that particalar floor not to show).
