I am trying to construct a driveway slab with different falls as per the attachment. Is it possible to draw a slab with multiple falls following the terrain. Any help would be appreciated.
Bob
Hi Bob,
The only real challenge I can see in this one is getting the Terrain to assume that slope. The Roadway will automatically follow the slope as long as you have the 'Hug Terrain' box ticked (which is the default anyway).
Have you got the Terrain sloped correctly or does the drive have this slope anyway, regardless of the Terrain?
Allan
Hi Bob!
The best way to do this is to use pads or a roadway in the terrain toolbar combine with a slop, they will hug the terrain, other you can use a ramp but ramps will not hug the terrain.
When I think about how I should do this or that in TFP, I think about how I would do this in real life.
In this case I will first do some ground work to get a smooth finish to cast on, then I build a form and then just placing concrete road. This will give me a hint what tool to use in the program.
Hope this will help you

PS Hi Allan! I saw you got hit send before me ;D DS
Robert & Allan thank you for your replies.
Robert I will try your method and let you know the results.
Allan, regardless of the terrain the driveway has this slope. I am finding it difficult to slope the terrain in more then one direction and to achieve the results I want. If I could slope the driveway as shown I could adjust the kerb and road to suit.
Thanks Bob
Hi Bob,
The Slope tool will only do one ditection.
Ùse the Plateau tool to in effect trace the contour lines.

another alternative is to generate the correct object model in another 3D program (SU should work) and import the object. Use total thickness of object for enough depth below terrain and set top height via "elevate". Apply texture.
This object so simple I could make it in a few minutes given all the needed dimensions....let me know. The end result can be a top surface of two triangles or of a smooth blended surface (much larger object file).
Hello Doug, I in fact did what you suggested, I constructed the driveway in TC and exported the model. It worked perfectly. Thanks.
