I am trying to figure out how to put yellow stripe lines on a parking lot. I tried using edging and changing the color but when I clicked finish it showed up for a second then disappeared and left an open section of the parking lot. Also on some of my walls they need to start out as a cement wall for the lower 5 feet then a 2x6 framing on top of that. The exterior of the wood framed would be lap siding and the cement would be a 4" thick limestone veneer. I am wondering if I am heading down the right path for the wall with setting up 2 separate building location lines for the 2 types of wall and for the limestone on the outside just draw in another exterior wall with the exterior finish selected to look like stone.

Hi Greg,
I would do the lines using the Driveway tool - just set it to very narrow.
For the two texture wall, just go to the wall Properties, Trim tab, choose Exterior, and choose Custom. You will find a Wainscot option. This allows you to set the lower part of the wall to a different texture.
If you want the walls a different thickness then a second location would be needed. Another alternative is to get or make a photo image .jpg and modify the texture surface color with stripes etc. as you see fit...then apply this modified texture from within TFP.
Depending on the size and complexity this may be easier or harder and could grow files sizes if you need hi quality detail. Advantages is that you have full control with one image not many 3D items.
Either way should work and is a user preference.

You can us a pad set height to 0.4" then you make it not selectabel, then use the layout tool and make the lines on the parking lot and convert to custom members 0.04X1" and make it yellow, make shure you put the lines on the terrain or they will float in the air the .
To make the lines you can use the grid-tool then it will go faster to mark the parking lot.
You can also convert to brick rail edging that will hug the terrain direct use same dimension as above.

There is still a issue with color and TFP 16, yellow color on terrain will give a shade of green. Use a image of the color instead!

recommend you search this forum for each of the items you need help with as all these issues have been discussed and solved before....this will give you some help. Aftyer you try something and then have a specific problem or get stuck, then ask for details.
Suggest you buy help video CDs from Jack; he has posted his info a few times and is extremely knowledgable and explains how to use TFP very well....a good investment.

You listed quite anumber of questions earlier and, as Doug pointed out, many of these things have been covered in forum previously and can be found using the forum Search option.
Presumably you are already working on a project so if you can post an image of your plan so far with specific questions, then we can seen where you are up to and how to help. Generally it is best if different types of questions are asked in separate posts as this makes it much easier to deal with them one at a time and also makes it easier for others to benefit when they have a similar question.
