Title: trim moulding reflections?
Post by: Doug.S on January 26, 2013, 03:18:00 PM
Allan, you are most likely to know the answer to this one...

see attached, std molding trim seems to be too reflective? or??  and paint on cabinet (color vs. paint?)  I'm checking reflection settings.

(I'll keep trying alternative textures etc. but changes so far not good; fixed door reflections)

everything else rendering OK

Doug.S

(no sun, interior lights; but sunlight did same)

EDIT: making progress, fixed cabinet...ouch color I picked had high emmisivity and reflections.  Wall must be misaligned or different colors and mldgs? Still working door mldg.

Guess I'll withdraw my ask for help but leave this for others to learn from???  I'm quite sure it is my meterials selections.

I think I've got it OK now....yes it was all about the materials, ensuring right/left walls same . . .  and I finally chose casings and floor mldg with profiles and selected color (dull) rather than default mldg image textures in white only moldings folder (used custom profile selected from list).

Tho I do see some small highly reflective tiny spots along the mldg profiles...could be the profile effect....and higher res renders may eliminate.

Good enough for now; lots more interior work to do.

Hi Doug,

Yes it is all controlled by the reflective setting of the texture (set to Dull) and as you said making sure you have both sides of the wall set the same.

Good fun isn't it?
