Hello again experts. I have managed to get my house moderately well done, however I made the terrain bigger than necessary and it doesn't fit on one sheet of paper at the scale I want (1:50). I tried changing the terrain size but unfortunately it starts cutting off the edge of the house before it gets down to the size I need.
I also have another file I did of my building block with the contours more or less correct, and I would like to copy the house and bung it directly onto my lot.
It is not a specially big or complicated design, so I could redo it on a new terrain, but obviously would much rather cut and paste it.
I am using TFP Home and Landscape Pro v16 in Windows 7.

You can move the house away from the terrain edge, and/or center the house, on the terrain sized as you wish.
I have not done so but know it has been shown on this forum; try a forum search.
But IIRC you make sure you change program settings to select all house location/levels/floors, do 'select all', move, then change settings back, otherwise you will select stuff on wrong floors later.

You do not have to change the terrain size or move the house to fit it on the paper. In the print dialog just choose the Window option and draw a box around what you want to print. The selected area will be all that prints.
Sorry but there is no way to copy and paste between different projects. You could export the house only as a dxf file and you coukd then import that and trace the design but if the design is not complex it may not be worth the trouble.

Thank you both, I tried using Print Window but it didn't give me the result I wanted, i.e. the print preview showed it was going to leave white space in parts and to run off the edge of the page in other bits. When I select all and then Move I got the move icon (like an arrowed cross) but nothing moved. I am using a fairly powerful laptop, maybe the problem is there? Anyway, after getting frustrated nudging everything inch by inch, I read the help files and used CTRL nudge to move it all 300 mm at a time, edited the terrain size in Settings>Program Settings, and got everything to print on an A4 sheet. BTW, when I printed to a pdf file I had to check Print Line Weights or I got an anorexic looking thing with super skinny semi-invisible lines.
As I can't copy and paste, if I rebuild the house on my terrain map, and later want to move it about the lot, can I select all without also selecting the terrain contour lines, or do I need to carefully chose the spot in which to build before starting construction again?

Hi Michael,
I am not sure what happened with the Print Window option but you should have been able to just draw a box around exactly what you wanted to print (by clicking upper left, then lower right) and what you select between the two points is all that would print. If it was "running off the edge" would indicate the you must have drawn the window part way through something. Another option is to fill the screen with exactly what you want to print and instead of choosing Window, choose Display. This will then print only what is displayed in the screen. If you do not choose Display or Window it will default to printing everything including the whole of the terrain.
Re moving everything on the Terrain:
Select All will only select options on the current location (eg Ground Floor) so if you have objects on different Locations (eg Second Floor etc) then you need to go to Settings/ Programme Settings / Building Aids and uncheck the box "Select elements on current location only in plan view". This makes all locations selectable when you choose Select All. If it still will not move, turn off Collision (Status bar lower right).
On your second project, where you already have the terrain done, it is best to start the building in the right place if possible but if you do need to move things later you need to go to the View Filter and make the Terrain non-selectable by clicking the little orange 'filter' icon (so it goes pale) and if you have other things on the terrain such as trees or garden items, then you will need to click the filter icon on those too. The Terrain and these other items will then not be selectable, so everything else will move in relation to them. Actually you will find it much easier to work with the Terrain non-selctable while you are working on the plan anyway, as you will find you keep selecting the contour lines accidentally otherwise.
Don't forget to turn "Select elements on current location only in plan view" on again when you have finished.
