I have two places in my drawings where there are doors but TFP won't allow me to place them on the walls. In the first image I want to put a 32" interior door on the wall that the red arrow is pointing to. If I drag the wall into the hall some I can put the door on it, but that's not how it is.
In the second image there is a bi-fold door on the wall that the red arrow is pointing to. I can put on on the opposite wall, but not on the wall where it needs to be. If I make the width of the door about half the width of the wall I can put it on this wall. This is not how it is. I have no idea why this is happening.

Doors will only be accepted where they will fit, including the door frame and space for the door to open. While the 32" door would appear to fit in the space, if you have it set to 100% open for example (opening right back against the wall) then it would not fit.
The bi-fold door would appear to have room (as long as it did not hit the opposite wall when opening). However I notice something odd in the wall at the top of this image. It looks like two walls right alongside each other and the one going vertically on the image appears to be on a slight angle. This looks like a corrupt wall and this may be why the door is playing up. I would investigate why there is this slight angle and also why the two walls are so close together. I cannot see the full building of course so there may be a logical explanation.
If these comments do not help then you may have to post the bld file so we can have a look at it.

I would expect if there is enough room for the door if I move the wall into the hallway instead of at the end that it would be OK at the end where there is more room on one side of the wall.
The diagonal line you mention is something TFP did when several different walls joined together. I re-did that area but it still won't let me put a door on that wall. This is part of the existing house and there is a 72" bi-fold door on that wall.

Obviously something is blocking the doors, but it is almost impossible to diagnose what the problem is, without seeing the whole model. It may be best if you post the bld file here, or email it to me if you prefer (alches AT iinet DOT net DOT au) and I will have a look to see if I can find the problem. I would need to know which actual doors you are trying to insert also.
If ever you see an angled wall like that, it indicates you have a bad join in the walls and it must be fixed or you will have severe problems sooner or later. Did you fix the double wall effect also?

Hi Dave,
I got your email and had a look at the model. The problem with the door insertion was the height of the wall on the Ground Floor underneath it. The lowere wall was extending into the first floor and that is why the door could not be inserted, as the wall was in the way. Lowering that wall or better still, elevating the whole first floor Location, will fix the problem.
