I haven't bought tfp yet but I plan to after just finishing the 15 day trial. I managed quite well with the steep learning curve but spent most of my time with the garden and shed design. I spent a short while trying to create my hallway which is a decorating project of the near future but ran into some problems and ran out of time. I hoped someone can help me with this and re-assure me that I can use TFP to model my home accurately.
I have a staircase with two quarter turn left landings, one landing is the first step and one landing is the last step. How do I create this? This is a link to a plan view of the staircase to help explain.

Hi and welcome to the forum! :)
What you propose should be quite easy to do as you can see on the image below of the dialog box. Presumably there is a step up to the first landing and from the last landing as shown. If not then these two 'landings' are really just a raised/lowered section of the floor with a straight set of stair between them, which is easily done.
To attach an image, just click the bold text "Attachments and other options" link, just below the comments entry box.

To get a 1/4 landing step you can use Custom Stair option and combine a L type Stair for 1st and 3rd part of stair with a Straight stair between.
The major problem is that you cannot control the length of the L Type stair tread run, they end up too long in my opinion.
The solution would then be to use the Floor tool, create the step the height / width / length you need and place the Quarter steps as individual steps with an 'Elevated' straight section between.
It is a bit of a balancing act to get L type steps to properly size with the straight section. You have to adjust number of steps / width and treads heights for each of the 3 sections.
I also added handrail by pick points and elevated as needed to get them looking a bit more realistic.

Thanks for your responses. Alan's image is closest to what I've got but there is no step before or after the landings, they are the first and last step. I guess this means when I get my activation code I'll have to look at raising and lowering sections of floor.

The Floor can be drawn "by Picking Points", so you can just draw the two landings, select the lower one, right click and Elevate it a little and do the same with the upper one, elevating it from the lower floor level or inserting it on the upper floor and lowering it (negative Elevate).
Another option is to go to Interior Accessories / Decorative and resize the "Custom Member" to serve as the landings. Again just Elevate them to the correct level.

an added caution, be sure you have enough room for the stairs to fit.
Often better to make stairs in an open space and move into position, or, build "in-place" but have walls moved away and after stair is OK, move walls back into place.
Use of "collision" on/off may help at times.
