Attached is a plan I been working on every time I try to generate a elevation the program crashes please help
EDIT: Forgot to attach file in my post here it is
Well I was able to fix the problem although I am not sure what it actually was - soething wrong with the wall Trim on the Second Floor. It was nothing to do with elevation views as such. the problem also occurred with 3D views also - as soon as you moved the camera.
To isolate the problem I first turned everything on in View Filter then turned off the walls. The problems was gone so the fault was in the walls (usual place for corruptions). I then turned on the Foundation (OK), then the Ground Floor (OK) then the Second Floor and again it crashed on moving the camera. I then turned off Windows, Doors, Openings and Trim and then progressively turned them on. It crashed on Trim. I could have selected each wall of the Second Floor and checked out the Trim on each but that would take a long time, so I just selected all the Second Floor walls, replaced the trims with a different ones and everything was OK. If you do this (replace the Trim on the Second Floor) you should be OK.
I noticed a few other little things that you may want to look at.
1. The building is only half on the Terrain. Obviously if you want to do rendered 3D images it will need to be moved to the centre of the Terrain.
2. The foundation has at least two floors in the same place - a concrete one and a timber one. One should be deleted or it will render with two floor texture competing with each other and could cause a corruption later.
3. As you can see on the image, the ceiling in this view is slightly higher than the top of the walls, as there is a little strip of the 'sunset' background through the gap between them.
4. The two walls that join into the thicker walls each side of the main entrance do not join in properly. Just drag the end of the these walls and it will snap into the thick door wall. (see second image)
Let us know how you get on and if the Trim change fixs the crashing.
If you forget to add a file to a forum post, just click the Modify button at the upper right of the comments box and you can add the file to the original post. (I have added the query from your first post into the second one above, so the query is in the same post as the attached file)
