Forum,
For some reason I have cases where I cannot place a simple hinged
door into a brick wall (90mm). It is random. I have done a repair to check the model
is correct and it all seems fine. If I can place a door, I am unable to nudge it or override
the placement dimensions without the door vanishing. The model I am working on probably
has 10 or so doors already placed and on some walls I have no issues. I have deleted the walls
and recreated them again but still no luck. The walls are more than three or four times
the width of a door so its not a case where it is a tight fit. Any thoughts as to what may cause
this? I have tried similar size doors from the catalogue with no luck.

Hi Shayne,
Hard to say without seeing the model but if the wall is long enough then it should insert OK. Is it multi storey model? The only other thing I can think of is that a wall on the another floor is intruding. I saw someone's model where they had overridden the ground floor wall height so that they were just a faction of an inch higher than the base plate of the door on the.level above, so the door saw the conflict and would not allow it to be inserted.

Thanks Allan,
The problem was another floor below impeding the upper floor very slightly.

Hi Shayne,
If the wall was intruding into the upper floor area, it would indicate that the walls on the lower floor are set to a fixed height not AutoExtend, or else your Location settings do not add up correctly. It sounds as though there is not enough room in the vertical setup for the floor thickness. It may pay to check this out or you could end up with other problems later.
