hi Allen, how do i make the door open a different direction?
Select the door, right click and choose "Flip Swing". This will swing the door the opposite way. You also have there the option "Flip Opening". This moves the door (or Window) to the opposite edge of the wall, so it opens into the other room or opens out of the building.

thanks for the quick reply Allen. however, when i choose door then rt. click, i can choose 1)finish, 2)enter insertion offset or 3)centre on wall. no mention of flipswing.
Those sound like the options while inserting the door. You must insert it first, then right click and flip the swing (if necessary_

hi Allen, i just found the solution. i have to get out of WALLS first. i then left key over the door to highlight the door in green, then i right click to find several choices, including 'flipswing'. tutor doesn't explain it like this.
That's right - you must be out of walls and select the door first - then you can right click and flip the swing. The right click options could be very different depending on the object you select. Obviously walls are very different to doors, so have many different right click options.
I had a look at the Tutor but it appears to explain it correctly to me, although it does assume you have already inserted the door before you select it in the model.
You can also select a door in the Catalogue, right click, choose Edit Element and change the swing there first- but that means every time you use that door it will swing the opposite way.
