Post by: mattia87 on August 15, 2013, 04:28:22 PM
Good morning,
Is it possible import object library of turbo floor plan v11 in turbo floor plan v16?
Were is the library file of both version?
Why if I import Google SketchUp model in floor plan v16 the model is distorted or deprived of some colors and details?

Simply put, NO. V11 was a completely different program even though the version number sequence was maintained, in the same way that V17 is also an entirely different program. The only way you could get objects from one program to the other would be to export them as a 3DS file and import into V16, but I don't think it was possible  to do that from V11 -  can't remember now!  ::)

The Catalogue (library) for v16 is accessible from File / Catalogues and they are contained in the Catalogues folder on your computer.

SketchUp models must be saved in SketchUp as V7 or earlier to work properly. V8 may work. Later versions of SketchUp were made after V16,so it does not know how to deal with any new aspects. Even then there can be issues with colours etc. You would often want to assign new colours or textures anyway.

You should've careful about importing many objects into your Catalogue as some can be very complex and use a lot of memory.  Some have done this and found their whole program becomes very slow to operate. If it is something you wish to use once, then import it only into the model, don't.save it to the catalogue. If they are things you want to use repeatedly then consider whether the object cannot simply be customized in TFP or actually be made inTFP and saved to use later. See the threads about Creating Custom objects and Useful Shapes at the top of the Tips and Tricks section of the forum.
