I can not get the program to export my drawing with the dimensions on. I did narrow it down to that. If I turn the dims off it exports as it should. With the dims on it crashes with a runtime error and then terminated the program.

I am suspicious that you may have introduced a corruption since the copy of the program you sent to me. I have just exported your original plan to DXF, with dimensions on, without any problem and it opened in TurboCAD perfectly OK.
If sounds like there is some corrupt element that is causing the problem. Start a new project, draw 4 walls and turn on Auto Exterior Dimensions and try exporting that. If it works then you know the program is OK and the problem is in the model somewhere.

Well as always you are correct ... I have no idea however what it may be. I can export the file without the dims and can not with them on. I don't quite know how to track it down however.
I tried a different drawing and it works OK so this drawing has a bug.
Question ... are the dimension settings like type and test size saved per drawing or in the program affecting every drawing?
Hi Rex,
Have you altered walls since you sent me the original file? Walls are the most common cause of corruptions. I would suggest that you have dimensions on and use the View filter to turn walls off and then try the export. If it succeeds you know the problem is in the walls. If it still fails, turn the walls back on and turn off the floors and so on until you find that part is failing. It may be some issue with these particular dimensions but I have not heard of them being an issue previously.
If you create a new dimension style, line type etc, it is saved in the catalogue not the drawing. If you want to maintain a specific dimension combination every time, set them up as you want and save that file into your Templates folder and choose that template for future drawings.

I tried every element one at a time with no luck. The drawing will not export to a .dfx. Says runtime error and teh crashes.
If I turn off the dimensions it works fine ... so I am lost (again).

Well, the Dimensions are not the problem, nor the Schedules. I deleted these elements separately and it still failed. The problem was the standalone arrows (not the ones with text attached). When I deleted the blank arrows only, it exported OK. (Copy attached).
The arrows were apparently created by using the "Text With Leader" option but not actually entering any text. This will give the arrow you want but will cause the crash. If you do the same thing but just hit the space bar once (instead of entering any text) it will work OK. Obviously it does not like a text box with no text but is happy with a blank space instead. I presume this classifies as a bug since you logically should be able to draw an arrow without having to include some text. It works Ok in the latest version of Envisioneer (parent program) which is a later than TFP16, so has obviously been fixed since. This was confirmed when I opened your file in Envisioneer 9 and it accepted the 'textless' arrows and exported to DXF OK.
Anyway, if you delete all the arrows that do not have text actually attached and insert them again but enter a blank space in the text area, you will get the arrow without text.
Another thing (in case you did not know) you can change the width of the columns in Schedules. Your Notes column in the Windows Schedule for example can be narrowed as in the image below.

Unfortunately but I can't claim to be any sort of special 'genius' - it was just a process of elimination.
Having established that it was the Dimensions layer that way the problem (and you had already done that), it was just a question of looking at what was on the Dimensions layer for something different or unusual. I deleted the Schedules first, but it still crashed, so deleted the dimensions themselves and it still crashed, leaving only arrows with text and arrows without text left. I suspected the ones without. Deleted them and all was OK. So I just tried inserting them again with a blank space instead of nothing and it was still OK.
I have not reported this as a bug because V16 will not be upgraded and later Envisioneer based products appear to be OK, so someone at Cadsoft must have come across it previously.
