hi folks,
Just tried this out for the first time
TURBOFloorPlan 3D Home & Landscape PRO v14 (Boxed)
It seemed to install o.k., but on launch it just hangs...!!
I can't even kill it with the TaskManager. I have to restart the laptop.
Worse still, the splashscreen sits in the middle of my screen so I can't do anything else !
any ideas ?
thanks
Fiona
Did you try running start TFP as admin? might help
or consider trying it setup to run compatible with win Vista or XP? ver 16 runs fine in win7x64, ver 14 might be made for earlier x32 system; check system reqmnts
Hi Fiona,
Welcome to the forum.
A few other things for a good installation:
Have nothing else running on the PC - even turn off virus scanner and firewall.
Locate the Setup.exe file, right click and select Run As Administrator.
If you still have problems, check that your computer's video driver is up to date - this can cause things to freeze and can cause the Welcome to stay on the screen. You can prove this is an issue turning off Hardware Acceleration. You will find this within the program in main menu - Settings / Program Settings / Graphics. If you cannot get to this because of the issues you are having, then you can also turn down the graphics acceleration on your computer itself. This is usually used to correct mouse problems. Generally it is accessed by right clicking the Desktop but this can vary with computers/operating systems. If that eases the problem then it indicates your video driver needs an update.
I presume the computer meets the minimum specifications to run the program.

thanks,
I will try these ideas.
I have already tried running as admin.
The instructions in the box did say that Windows 7 was supported, didn't say anything about 64 bit though.
I noticed I got an error message relating to Envisioneer 5.0 hanging if that is helps any ?
I also thought that if I upgraded to a later version of the software then it might work?

Hi Fiona,
64bit should not make any difference - the program will just use 32.
If V14 will not run it is unlikely V15 or V16 would work either. V17 is a totally different program but if your PC is having driver or other issues, then it may affect that too.
V14 is based on Envisioneer 5 hence the message. V15 is based on Env. 6 and V16 on Env.7 and would have corresponding error messages. V17 is based on an unrelated Punch program.

Fiona,
Regarding TFP V17: I run this version using my Win 7 - 64 bit version, without problems. However, notice that it is a 32 bit program
Just an additional idea regarding your current issue: did you check any possible interference with antivirus, antimalware, etc?
Good luck!
