I just downloaded the V17 Deluxe. I wanted to give it a trial before buying it. I cant seem to find bi-fold closet doors. Am I looking in the wrong place. Can someone tell me where they would be or how I could find them.
I haven't used anything like this since V8. I have been using REVIT from Autodesk, but I wont have that forever as it is a student trial.
So I am looking for something that I will have.
Any help will be very appreciated.
Thank You
Hi pastorlee,
TFP V17 is quite different from the previous versions of the program and from Revit.
Yes, TFP V17 has bi-fold doors. Try this:
In the Floor tab => click on the Door Tool icon (outlined in green in the image attached) => in the Tool Options bar (right pane), click on the Door button in order to open the door selection menu => the 10th icon from the top is a bi-fold door (outlined in red in the image attached) => place on a wall (outlined in blue in the image attached)
Hope this helps
Thank You Patricia. I was able to find it and it worked out well. Are there any double bi-fold doors?
I am sure there are, but sometimes with everything else one tries to learn, it seems easier and quicker to ask. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Thank you for the response and the help.
Lee.
Lee,
you're welcome! ;)
You can compose it using the Custom Doors.
TFP, as any program, has a learning curve. The best way to learn the program, IMO, is practice + practice + practice. Read and follow the manual (this is important), try to create elements not related with your project, so you will become familiar with the commands and how to develop the different components.
If you prefer, I have an e-books series, including a free e-book, than can be used with TFP V17. See link in my signature
Hi Patricia,
I see you said that yes, there is a way to do double bi-fold doors using custom doors. I have been able to do double french doors, but not bi-fold. There don't seem to be any bi-fold options. Can you help me?

Hi Kate,
Yes, I can help. I created a workaround that works nice for double bi-fold doors.
Set 4 doors with 12" each (in white in the image attached)--> set the swing angle at 45 degrees and the trim at 1" --> set them together --> go to Materials --> Custom Library --> Bonus Materials --> miscellaneous --> Black Transparent (the 8th icon) --> apply on the trims (both sides) --> Add an empty casement with 48" (in green in the image attached) --> group the doors as desired --> see attached.
Patricia
Thank you. That will work well as soon as tech support figures out why 3D will only display when I'm holding down my mouse button, but that is a different question in a different thread.
I already answered this
