Title: Cabinet Problems
Post by: Graham C on January 20, 2014, 08:10:10 PM
I am having problems getting any of the cabinets to work.  Any I select all end up as a island unit!  This is what I have been doing.
I select the Floor tab.
Click on the Cabinet icon.
In the Tools Option, I select the thumbnail picture for the unit I want to use.
I then click on the drawing and it places a cabinet on the drawing, but NOT what I selected!!

Am I doing something wrong or is there a bug?

I am using Windows 7 64-bit with latest updates.   TFP is Version 17.0.6

Hi Graham C,

No bug here  :)

When you use the Cabinet icon (Floor Tab), you have two options to place the cabinets
- If you place the cabinet by clicking on the floor of the room, the program will set an island cabinet
- If you place the cabinet by clicking on the wall of the room, the program will set a wall cabinet using the selected model => See attached

Tip: after you insert the cabinet by clicking on the wall => select the cabinet on the plan => go to the cabinets' drop down menu => select the desired model => the selected cabinet (floor plan) will become the selected cabinet in the drop down menu
Good luck with your project!

:)  Easy when you now how!  Many thanks for that update.

I was trying to place the cabinets just in front of the wall, hence it did not work as expected.  My error.

Hi Graham C,

You're welcome!  :)

TFP, as any other program, has a learning curve, so the best resources are practice + practice + practice. Remember that often the best way to learn is to make a few mistakes. ;)
If you are interested, I wrote 3 e- books that can be used with TFP V17, including a free e-book. See links in my signature
Good luck with your project!
