Title: Measurements on 3d rendition Version 17
Post by: pogmahon on March 11, 2014, 07:36:31 AM
Good morning,
Is there any way that I can get measurements displayed in 3D rendition?  I would like to print 3D with the measurments.  Thank you.

Hi pogmahon,

Depends of the situation.
1 - If you developed a house and you wish to print the model in 3D view, showing dimensions, yes absolutely, you can do this: please, follow the explanation with the image attached => in the 3D view selector, click the last icon (Elevation view, outlined in green in the image attached) => the model of the house will appear in front elevation => select the pan rotate icon  (looks like a hand, outlined in red in the image) => rotate the house to the desired angle => click and open the drop down menu with the dimension tools (outlined in blue in the image => select the desired tool => set the desired image (highlighted in yellow in the image)
2 - If you are creating a 3D full rendering, like these images, for example http://forums.turbofloorplan.com/index.php/topic,2782.0.html , then notice that as these are rendered images, you can't measure the depth. So in this case, you can print the 3D image and add the dims as text with a graphic program.
