Hi Forum,
This one is probably more for Allan. Sometime ago you created double brick walls suitable
for construction in our city. When I do a section through the house I only see the internal line
for the internal wall and the external line for the external wall. I would like to know how to see
all four lines (two internal lines - cavity) in section. I have tried all the settings but no luck so far.
It will save me offsetting lines in 2d.

I don't think it will model the inside of the wall as such in 3D, hence you only see the two outer surfaces. However I will have a look at it and get back to you later (today hopefully).

I look forward to the reply. I haven't tried it but maybe I could model the internal and external
walls individually. The only issue I see is inserting door frames and windows through both walls.
Also in the library I see a colorbond roof in two colours, one in a blueish colour and the other a dark / olive
green. Has anyone created colorbond roofing for each of the colours? eg Jasper , or how would
that be done? The colours are in the library but not the colorbond sheeting profile with each of the colours.

Hi Shayne,
Sorry I have not had time to look at the wall section issue yet, hopefully today. A window / door will cut through two walls in some circumstances but, if too close, two walls will meld together so that may be an issue.
All the Colorbond colours and profiles should be there, listed under Corrugated Panelling not Roofing. You can also add them into Roofing if you prefer as they are in the textures library. Go to Roofing, right click, Add Material, browse to Corrugated.... and you will find all the profiles are there. As you probably know they keep changing the names but the colours are still the same. Jasper is there, as I used it recently but I can't remember if it had the Jasper name. You can change it anyway if you want during import.

I had a play with the Brick Veneer walls and the section will only display the outside surfaces as I thought.
I also had a play with doing two separate walls and that seems to work. For convenience I just did the original walls with a window, then Offset the wall, which duplicated everything (window also). I deleted the interior window (wall healed) and then I widened the frame of the outer window to the depth of both walls. It cut the opening in the interior wall automatically. A door should behave the same.
There may be a few lines you need to delete but it is probably quicker to do that than add the other lines in. See example below (which obviously has an awning over the window). You would have to add the brick pattern though.

Okay moving forward I will modify the way I model. Means modifying all the window and door
libraries which is time consuming. Would be good if Cadsoft could make the walls show correctly
in section.
Hi Shayne,
I seem to recall you asking somewhere about getting the brick pattern in Section views without having to add it manually in the worksheet. It is possible. Set the Exterior, Core and Openings to the Brick Pattern and then when you display the Section make sure you have the display set to Pattern View - it will default to Wireframe View.
