Title: Cabinet questions
Post by: parks65 on April 22, 2014, 08:35:08 AM
So, looked at various options for cabinets and can't figure out a few items:

- Corner cabinets.  There are 2 types of corner cabinets on the market, one has the blind corner and the other has a lazy susan inside and doors on each of the 2 walls of the corner.  There seems to be a dummy cab you can throw in the corner to simulate the blind corner, but not finding options for the lazy susan corner.

- Tall pantry cabinets.  Closet I can find here are bookshelves which don't look right.

- Filler strip to cover the gap that exist due to the wall not being an even increment of 3".

- 24" Dishwasher.  For some reason, it is forcing a size of 2'8", yet most standard dishwashers are only 2'0" wide.

- Door handles(pulls) running vertically instead of horizontally.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi parks65,

1 - Corner cabinets w/ lazy susan: you can create your own using the 3D custom workshop power tool. I am attaching 2 models from my library (inserted in *.PRO files)=> unzip the files => Open your program => File => open. If you wish, you can customize the objects in the 3D custom workshop power tool
2 - Use a base cabinet => set the correct dimensions and settings => remove backsplash and counter
3 - Not sure what do you mean. You can set the location manually. Deactivate the snaps settings if necessary
4 - The appliances' width is 24", but this is a dishwasher cabinet => they include insulation, therefore the width is different.
5 - Click on the Hardware Style button (outlined in green in the image attached)  => the library will open => click on the black triangle to browse all the library until you find the desired style => the vertical units are in the second half of the library (outlined in red in the image attached)

Thanks for the reply.  Having to make a common corner cabinet via the 3D tools seems like a lot of work, especially when they don't seem to inherit the design styles then from the of the cabinets.  I find working with the existing cabinets frustrating due to how they work and the limited options for styles.

Appreciate your time.

Hi there,

Not sure what do you mean by limited option for styles? did you check all the types of cabinets, styles for doors, drawers, hardware, etc?
