I am building a small deck, installed with hangers on the building, and one girder on the other side. Only 3 posts/footings are needed. I can't find where to build this. All my builds have an uneeded center girder with posts and more posts on the building attachment side.
How do I turn off any uneeded supports but keep the ones I need?
Thanks
One solution (visually) is to select the deck side that is against the house, drag the side into and past the exterior wall so the deck supports are under the house....deck does not show inside.
If deck does show thru floor, raise the floor a very small amount such as 1/64"
If you have a basement and deck shows inside....either duplicate the .bld file and delete the deck for inside renders, or just move the deck when rendering inside views and move it back for exterior renders.
You can also play with the "properties" parameters....including un-checking posts/footings (leaves NO supports) and then insert your own "columns" where-ever you want them....then you don't need to drag the deck overlapping the exterior wall.
This is a deck whit 3 posts and one girder whit the properties you can see in the images. You have to experiment whit the properties for the decks.
To right hight between building and deck You can change Floor level in my building have I add 100 mm 3"15/16 to floor level, and You my also change properties for th wall Drop Exterior Face whit same amount.

Edit: There is one good reason to elevate the hole building that is that you never ad a deck to a building whit the standard settings for the floor level in the Building Locations, you will add a patio in this cases. At least you will have a ground floor level more than 500 mm 19" 37/54 to add a deck.
:End Edit
took Doug's idea of just eliminating all posts and using columns. Wish I can now figure out how to show the footings.
first pic is deck with computer generated posts. Second is how deck will be built using columns.
You can insert short squat cylinders or cube with concrete as material to make you own foundation . . .
use a round or square column, re-size and turn off collision detection
you can use another location to get height correct and avoid collision that way
