I have a small lot (60 x 60 ft.). I tried to change the lot size and I get a message:
The new lot is maller than the boundary of the design.
I can't see how to change the design boundary.

Hi there,
Using TFP V17, we need to differentiate two concepts:
1 - the program's lot size => it is a big square covered with grass also called the workspace. In this space you can build a house, create landscape, etc. By default, the size of this lot is 200x200 ft, but you can customize the dimensions using => Design => Lot properties => the dimensions are outlined in green in the image attached
2 - the size of your lot: you can define it using the Property Line (Landscape Tab) => in the image attached the length of the PL are outlined in green / red.
Now, you can set both "lots" with the same dimensions (as I did in the image attached) or you can insert your lot in the workspace. It is your decision.
Usually, I prefer to insert the lot within the workspace in order to place driveways, trees, etc.

No matter what dimensions I put in the dialog you've shown, I get the same message:
"The new lot is smaller than the boundary of the design."
The current dimensions show:
160 wide X 142 deep
I don't have idea where these dimensions came from.

Also, can you start a new and empty project and try to change the lot size?

I opened a new project with a sample plan. I captured the lot size screen and attached the picture. The lot size is 200 X 200. Then I tried to change it to 100 X 100 and I didn't get an error so then I tried to change it to 75 X 75 and got the error I had before. I captured the screen again and attached it. So now it is 75 X 102.
So something is constraining it but I don't know what it is. The actual house floor plan in this sample house is 55 X 42 feet.

For the second screenshot: what I need is that you do the same in an empty file, without anything (no sample plan, no rooms, no topography, nothing) => just open a new file => bypass the quickstart screen by clicking "Continue" => Main Menu => Design => Lot properties => try to change the dimensions of the lot and let me know what happens

OK. I did that and the lot properties screen is the same as the first image. I've attached again.

What happened in the different instances when you tried to
change the lot size in the empty file? For example, can you set the lot size in the empty file to 60'x 60'?

Yes, I can change it to anything I want.
So, this explains the issue.
If you have a building or any other element, the lot dims will be constrained to the contour containing these elements. If you have a building, the contour will include the dimensions of the exterior walls
My advice: use a larger workspace (200'x200' for example) and set the specific lot (60'x60' for example) using the Property Lines (Landscape tab)
