It has been some time since I used my Turbo Floorplan program, v12.01.C2.586, and even though it was not the newest version, it was sufficient to my needs. Then my computer with Windows Vista died (motherboard failure) and I built a new computer with Windows 8.1. A few days ago I reinstalled the TFP progam, and when I open up one of my existing plans, everything looks normal, until I move the mouse cursor. Then, the plan turns into a wireframe, as in the attached screenshot.
Is this an incompatibility with Windows 8.1, or is there something I'm missing?

I know that versions later than V12 work fine on Windows 8 so would imagine V12 would also.
A few things to check:
Are you sure you did not accidentally turn the display to wireframe mode?
Have you tried it using Windows Compatibility mode? (This effectively runs it as if it is was Vista)
Have you tried it with Hardware Acceleration turned off? (Settings / Program Settings / Graphics)
If it is OK with HA off, it indicates that the computers video card driver needs to be updated, although I imagine you would have done that when rebuilding the computer.

I heard from IMSI technical support, and this is what they said:
The v12 release predated Win 8, and it's not compatible with Win 8
I would recommend that you consider the TurboFloorPlan 3d Home & Landscape Pro 2015
It would cost $69.99 for an upgrade.
One thing I must mention is that the current version will not read your v12 files.
I went through the conversion from .bmf to .bld files, and going from .bld to whatever the new format might be is simply not an option. TFP has been a fun hobby for me, but no more than that, and I am afraid that now I will have to turn my interests elsewhere.

Some notes
Although there is not a direct conversion between both programs (TFP 12 and TFP 2015), there is an indirect conversion.
Anyway, an important note regarding your issue: I am a software beta tester and I am in different forums. In the last months, some users are reporting issues with rendering and Windows 8.1. It seems that the OS affects some video cards and mouse movements.
So my suggestion is that you update the drivers of your video card, mouse, etc.
And if the problem persists, verify in the Microsoft forums or with your video card manufacturer if there is interference between you video card and Win 8.1
