Last night, I installed TurboFloorPlan (version, etc, are in signature), and naturally ran the wizard that pop'd up. It took me forever to actually select anything in the plan. Somehow, eventually, I was able to "unlock" the plan so that it could be edited. I don't know what it was that suddenly enabled me to select a few of the elements in the plan, but there it was. I *thought* what did the trick was one of the following (or some combination): a) View Filter, b) actually picking from the catalog a similar item to what I wanted to select with the selection tool, or c) setting the cpu affinity to a single core of my dual-core cpu for the application's process thread in Task Manager.
After futzing around for awhile, reading help, etcetera, I realized I had started off wrong and started from scratch with just a plot of land. That worked well for a while, but when I realized that the wizard made the initial footprint and all else so easy, I went back to try the wizard again.
This time however, there's nothing I can do to make the initially created plan editable. The selection tool will not work on any thing. I've toyed with the View Filter settings. I've tried selecting what appeared to be the right kind of object from the catalog. All to no avail. The in-program help does not seem to address this issue, and anything related to selecting objects/elements seems to assume you may simply point and click.
Furthermore, any element I add to the floor plan is ALSO not selectable (which means it can not be edited in anyway). If I add a wall, for example, choose the select tool, then try to select the wall, it's a no go.
What is it that I have missed?
Edit: After some more experimentation, the one botched project I called Baseline2007 still allows me to select objects. Other programs do not. I've been going through the program settings (which seem to differ between projects?). After making all the settings identical, the problem persists :(
I'm attaching two .bld files. The Baseline2007.bld works for me, the Baseline2007a.bld does not (i.e., I can't select anything).
My first thought is to ask if you have Hardware Acceleration on - if you have try with it off. It is very PC specific and can causel of issues.
Doing this on my phone and I cant get TFP to work on it! Will try your plans when I get home.

Allan,
Thank you! :D
That did work.
So much happier now. :)
Edit: Erm...ok, so without hardware acceleration, altering a 3D view is staggeringly slow. Might there be a way to keep the zippier 3D aerial fly around, yet still able to select stuff?
And why did it not seem to matter with the one project, yet it did matter with the other? Is it possible that the hardware acceleration is choking on some element or another?
It is possible it is choking on something - I am still not home yet to have a look at your files to see he there is anything obvious.
I have it on all the time until I render the final image - it does not stop me editing. We have asked for a quick on/off button. Some have no problem with it, while others have to leave it off all the time. It is very PC specific.

I just opened your 2007a file and it works fine for me in all respects on my laptop with HA "on"....which is how I always use it. On my desktop PC I use HA on for design but must turn it off to render,
So I can't offer any real help except that the file seems all OK and every wizard generated file I ever made always works OK.
HA is often a serious problem for some people and oddly when it runs too fast/too good its as bad as too slow or outdated. You probably need to be OpenGL fully compatible with ver 1.4 or 1.7 but the developers have never really said that.
As follow up:
On a hunch, I turned off SLI. Everything worked!
So, for those of you who have two graphics cards and are experiencing problems, you may wish to disable one of the cards and see how things go.
