Appears to be random. Be it a plumbing fixture or a bed once it's placed and "finished" is selected the item disappears.
There are a couple of possible reasons but they are pretty obvious so I assume that you have checked these - nevertheless I will ask the questions:
1. Are you sure that you did click the item into place before selecting Finish?
2. Have you checked that the visibility setting for that group of objects (eg Interior Accessories for the bed) is turned ON in View Filter? (Bear in mind it may be ON when viewing ALL Location ls but can be OFF just on the location you inserted it - eg Interior Accessories could ON for the Ground Floor but may be OFF for the Second Floor where you are trying to insert the bed).
3. What happens when you use the Zoom To Extents option in Plan view? Do you still see the model or does it vanish to just a speck somewhere on the screen (or not visible at all)? If this is happening the it could be you have somehow accidentally inserted the object way outside the model area, so is in fact inserted but not where you think it is. If this is happening then it is a serious challenge to find the objects and delete them to get your Plan view back again. No, it appears to be completely random. I will be inserting objects just fine and then I will click "finish" after placing another object and it will just disappear.
Back to my third point above - what happens when you use the 'Zoom to Extents' button? Does it just make the Plan or Terrain ( if turned on) fill the screen or does the plan go very tiny?
