Title: Elevations
Post by: garystan on July 17, 2015, 01:43:07 PM

    Hi everybody :

I was doing a practice run on having a bridge over a small river. At first, when I added the  "water" (using a pad with modified properties), the bridge changed elevation.  When I did, I had to lower the elevation so the bridge would sit on the land, instead of above it.    In another project I was working on,  I was kind of setting up the same layout ( a bridge over water), but I deleted the project to start over.   Anyway, it seems like I might have the same problem with this project....the bridge's elevation "jumping" to a higher elevation (not sitting on top of the land.   It's probably the WAY I'm going about this (?) .  Take a look at what I've got.

Hi Garystan,

I have tried tonreplicate this but was unable to do so. I assume the bridge was made in  some other program, meaning it was imported presumably as a 3DS object.  If this is the case positioning of the object can sometimes be difficult especially if you modify the size after import - it will suddenly move  to another position, usually higher.

The problem in your case is being caused by the pad so you could just use a Floor or just the Box object to use as the water. The water in the experimental lake image below is just a floor.
