Title: Interior lights not turning on?
Post by: househunter91 on February 04, 2016, 11:21:27 AM
Hello all, I have the mac version of TFP and I am wondering how is it possible to get the lights to come "on"? I have sunlight turned off, the black, night time background set and I have the rendering setting to render at the highest quality however there is no illumination of any of the lights in the house. I have tried with multiple different lights and even tried using the sample plans to get this to illuminate.

Is this a limitation of having the mac version or am I missing something else?

Many thanks in advance!

Hi there,

The lights work nicely in the Mac versions as well as the PC version.

Did you set the lights on? Did you set the controls? => by selecting the lights, you can adjust the settings in the Inspector (see image attached => the controls are outlined in red)

Also, don't forget to adjust the Intensity and Brightness of the Ambient light (use 3D => Lightning options)

Wow! Can you believe all this time, I never even looked under the electrical panel to see that option.

Thanks so much!!

Hi there,

You're welcome!  :)

Yes, I believe you. This is why I always insist that the best way to learn the program, IMO, is practice + practice + practice => Read and follow the manual (this is important), see the videos => try to create elements not related with your project, so you will become familiar with the commands and how to develop the different components.
If you are interested, I wrote a training e-book. See link below.
