I'm struggling to cut a hole in the second floor of my model and I'm not sure why.
The base elevation for the model is 0", the first floor slab is 10" and the first floor ceiling height is 84". (Picture "Floor 1"). So adding the 2nd floor joists of 10" means the second floor elevation is 94" as shown in the "Floor 3" picture.
As I'm drawing my floor cutout the "Object Elevation" is indicated at 94" but as soon as the cutout is complete the "Object Elevation" is shown as 104 1/2", and I don't understand where that number is coming from; it seems like it should be at 94". Too, although it seems like the floor cutout should be floating above the floor, there IS a cutout in the floor, but the cutout has its own floor; I can't see the room below. ("Floor 4" picture.)
If I change the Object Elevation of the cutout to 94" I end up with no floor cutout. ("Floor 5" picture.) It's only when I increase the floor cutout thickness to 13 1/2" do I get a proper cutout.
As I understand it "The Floor Cutout has the same thickness and elevation used for the Floor where the Cutout is applied" and "Elevation of the Floor Cutout: follows the general concepts of Elevation and it is always referred to the lower face of the cutout." So it seems like the thickness should be 10" and the elevation should be 94."
What am I not understanding here?

I tried attaching the file but I'm told that I can't attach a ".PRO" file here. However in looking at the file size it does seem like something is wrong with the file itself, so I may need to simply start over.
Given the "Floor Properties" and "Floor Base Elevation" I mentioned in my first post, shouldn't the elevation of the floor cutout be 94", with a width of 10"?

In this case, without the file, I can't point the problem.
Although the PRO file is not listed, you can attach it. If the file is too large, you can zip it.
Otherwise, please contact Tech support.
Answering your question => as general concept => The floor cutout must follow the base elevation and full thickness of the floor.
