I've made several different drawings of the same house with slightly different floor plans and generally I've seen automatic room names placed pretty much in the center of each room, as shown by picture 1 attached.
For whatever reason one particular drawing has the "Porch" label placed pretty much in the middle of a wall as shown by picture 2 attached. In the various different drawings of this house with somewhat different floor plans I've generally not touched the porch and the "Porch" label has always been placed well "inside" the porch itself, except for this drawing.
Is there any user control available here to get the label placed correctly?
Hi there,
Please, follow the explanation with the image attached
Why this happens? => Go to the Detail tab => create an "L" shape (as your porch) and select it as Object => (first shape on the right - highlighted in yellow) => as you can see, this is almost a square, so the program inserts the labels in the center of the shape, as you can see in the following drawing (center - outlined in green).
How to solve this (third drawing - on the right)=> remove the labels of the porch (Unselect in the information tab) => use the Leader Dimension Tool (outlined in red)=> place the arrow in the desired location => the text will show the information or you can add more information (highlighted in yellow - pointed with the red arrow) => you can customize the appearance of the arrow, text, etc.

Thank you for the reply. The dimensions of the porch changed only slightly from previous drawings - and mainly in the horizontal dimension - but apparently it was enough to move the automatic label up into the window of the living room. I'll use your workaround to get the label more centered in the horizontal area of the "L".
Thanks!
You're welcome! :)
