Just realized I posted this question the wrong place a couple days ago... I have TFP Home & Landscape Pro 2016 (V 18.0.1.1001)...apparently the top-of-the-line offering, which I had presumed would have all options. The User's Guide has a whole chapter on the Symbol Editor, Chapter 32. The first page of that chapter says to launch it through the Power Tool Launcher. However, my program doesn't show the symbol editor there. Is it actually somewhere else? Is the User's Guide just teasing us and the symbol editor really isn't available? Is there another version of the program that DOES have the symbol editor? -- I have been able to copy a symbol to the user library, then open it in the 3D Custom Workshop and modify it. It appears that the modified version does work correctly when added to a floor plan, BUT the icon that appears in the user library window in TFP is unchanged from the original. Is there at least a way to get that icon to be updated to match the new symbol? And finally, can symbols be downloaded from somewhere on the web? Can symbols be imported (e.g. from other more common formats)? Can symbols be created in some other program and imported into TFP (18.0.1.1001)?

To answer your last question first, no, symbols cannot be imported. Drawing elements can be imported via DWG or SKP and they can be used in drawings but symbols cannot be imported nor can the imported files be added to the symbols library.
TFP is a licenced product, (as is the manual) there is a higher feature product sold by Punch! that does include the full symbol editing functionality you can see it here:

Although it doesn't include the Symbol Editor, the newest version is V2017.

You will find links to free symbols (as DXF / DWG files) in my Facebook page. Also, you can create your own symbols using the lines / shapes in the Detail tab.
