I would like to indicate which circuit an outlet or switch is on--ideally by color coding them.
I know that I can add text or edit the description of each plug, but is there a way to change the color or the way the outlets are drawn (e.g.bold, slightly larger font...)?

I am not sure if you noticed, but in the libraries, you will find several models, descriptions and styles of receptacles, switches, etc. But, if you wish to add your personal description, use the Leader dimension tool (arrow) => point the component => edit the text and / or change the font. See attached.
In addition, to change the color of the the arrow and the description, you can move them to another tab (Detail, Decks, etc).
