Title: SketchUp files: Closet Organizers
Post by: ahr8tch on February 06, 2008, 11:46:54 PM
Here are 2 files containing drawings of closet organizers drawn in SketchUp.

You can import them into TFP.  Here's how I did it:

[Note:  I decided to put them in a new folder in Interior Accessories.  I had previously created the folder, Closets.  Of course, you can put them wherever you like.]

1) Navigate within TFP to Interior Accessories (Insert/Interiors/Interior_Accessories) and select the folder you want to put them in (I used the "Closets" folder I created) in the Group menu.
2) Place your cursor in the Interior Accessories window and right click.
3) Select "Add Element" from the flyout menu.
4) In the Define Element menu that appears, click the radio button labeled "Import geometry from file" and click OK.
5) Using Windows Explorer navigate to wherever you stored the file you want to import and select it then click OPEN.
6) A catalog element window will appear.  (Mine was titled Interior Accessories because that is where I chose to place the element.)
7) The Name panel will contain the word, "<default>"  (at least it did when I did this).  Place your cursor in the name box and type in the name you want the element to appear as.  In my case I typed in "Closet Organizer, Double", for example.
8) Click OK and "Bob's Your Uncle".  The imported file will appear in your catalog in the folder you placed it in with the name you gave it.

These files can be manipulated to size them by gross dimension, but they cannot be changed as to relative construction.  That is, the area with the double tiered hangar rods and the middle space area and the single tiered hangar rod area will expand or contract proportionally.

Of course, you can also open the files with SketchUp and do with them as you will.

No warranties on these.  Use 'em if you like 'em.
