When I print a plan only part of the image prints. I am printing to scale, 1/4, on a Arch E sheet. In the print preview window everything appears fine. However, when printed I have a light strip in the middle and the plan is missing wall on the right side. I've attached both.
Hi there,
Several tips and notes:
1 - In order to print, the program collects all the info in the plan, so if you have any object (even a dot) in any corner, FP will consider it as part of the plan and will try to print it => in this case you'll see this as blank pages or blank space in the paper.
To solve this missing dot issue, select the house =>Use the lasso (rectangular selection around the walls, don't use Select all!!) => Edit => copy => open a new (and empty) file => Paste => try to print from this new file.
2 - You mentioned that you wish to print the entire plan onto a Arch E sheet. Are you sure that the scaled plan fits? In order to see the ratio plan / paper, create a frame for the plan, with the real paper dims.
If you are interested, check my Advanced Collection (http://www.punchhelpers.com/store3.html) => it includes different 2D and 3D scaled sets with different papers sizes, etc. Using these sets, you can print the scaled plans directly to the desired paper size, PDF, etc. (See image attached).
3 - When you print to PDF, you can set the paper dims. This means that if you choose a printing scale= 1/8"=1' and you use a PDF printing scale of 50%, you will get a plan printed in scale 1/16"=1', this is because 1/16"=1' is 50% of 1/8"=1'.
In addition, be sure to set correct printing options, matching the PDF settings.
4 - You mentioned that in the preview all looks OK. Actually, check the bottom right button => it says "Next page" => this means that the program found more items to print, therefore the printing is not fitting the paper.
Hope this helps.
