Title: Moving windows and doors
Post by: Kurt on July 27, 2021, 09:50:16 AM
Turbo FloorPlan Pro 2020

When I place a window or door I can slide it along the wall with the mouse or arrow keys.  However, if I go to the Edit menu with the windows selected the "Move..." item (along with most other menu items) are grayed out.  How can I accurately move the window?  For example, it needs to move 6-3/8".

Hi there,

Doors and windows are components attached to the walls, therefore, they can't be moved with the "Move" feature.

Doors and windows can be moved along the wall, so the best option is creating a manual dimension with the exact displacement length (6-3/8" in this case) and then move the window manually. Before you move the window, confirm the auto snap options.

In addition, you can set the wall dimensions from edges, so the distances will appear from the windows' edges.

TFP, as any program, has a learning curve. The best way to learn the program, IMO, is practice + practice + practice => Read and follow the manual (this is important), see the videos => try to create elements not related with your project, so you will become familiar with the commands and how to manage the different components and effects .

Hope this helps.
