Title: Excavate Topography on a slope
Post by: kmscoop on June 14, 2022, 10:23:24 PM
I have a property with an extreme slope in the backyard. I've established the slope no problem, but now I want to cut into slope to create a patio area with retaining walls. I've used the Excavate tool in the past projects without issue, but now I'm trying to apply it to a sloped portion of the yard and nothing happens. What am I doing wrong? [version 21.0.2 Mac]

Hi there,

The excavation tool is just intended to create "holes" => these "holes" are transparent boxes (for example, for excavation of an egress window). Therefore, you can't create a flat area with this tool.

In order to create a flat area, I'd suggest that you create a building pad.

In addition, keep in mind that in the program, the retaining walls (Landscape tab) don't stop the topography.

Hope this helps.
