help! i just started a new project and everytime i draw a wall it floats about a foot above the ground. how can i fix this? thanks.
The program is setup for floors to be 1" off the ground by default to account for sub-floor construction. When a room is completed by closing 4 walls the 1' exterior is covered by the exterior wall.
You can change anything in height by changing the "location" settings.
Suggest you try making a few different houses using the house "wizard" menu/tools/design wizards/house builder and look around at the results to see how it ends up looking...then explore on your own
and read thru the help file and click on local help tips when not sure
trial and error is a good learning method but if you get stuck ask specific questions and other users here try to help each other.

thanks for your quick reply. i've fixed that problem thanks to your help. i wonder if you can help me with something else. i'm using the trace image feature, and i've imported a jpg to trace. but when i draw walls on top of it i cannot see the walls in 2d plan mode. when i draw off the trace image it shows up fine, but it's as if the image is on top of the walls. do you know how to fix this? thanks.
