Hi Pat,
None of the standard 2D Building Details symbols for wall and foundation construction are correct for the foundation and stud wall construction details for our township inspector. Can I bring in Details 05 and 21 to the floor plan, then change them as needed and save to my Content Library for future use? Do I just add a folder under my personal library ikon labeled 2D Symbols? How do I save the modified image?
Does Pat's Tutorials explain how to do this and if so, what page in the tutorials? I couldn't find an explanation in the User Guide either

Hi there,
After you place the Constructive Detail in the workspace => right click => Ungroup => proceed to modify the drawing as desired. The new drawing can't be added to your library.
Answering your question about the eBook, an important note for all the users => this process as well as additional options, examples, images, etc. are in my eBook for FP V2022 (https://www.punchhelpers.com/version-2022-windows.html), in the 2D symbols section, page 189.

Hi Pat,
I have been able to modify a 2D construction symbol and export it to a DFX/DWG file and have made a Folder under the My Library ikon (little man) and I can import the DFX/DWG file back into my TFP-PRO V2022 plan but I can't seem to find out how to save the new 2D image to the My Library folder under the 2D Symbols heading.
Did I miss a step? It would be very helpful to have the 2D symbols I have made show up in the Content menu versus have to go hunting thru the Windows Explorer tree.

As I stated in my post above (https://forums.turbofloorplan.com/index.php?msg=16850) you can't import you DWG symbol to your User Library. These 2D symbols are created with proprietary format and they include 3 files for each symbol.
A workaround: you can create the new symbol with the 3D Workshop (using lines, curves, etc). Then, you can save this symbol as an object. It will appear in your library as an object but it will be a 2D symbol.
Otherwise, if you have a group of DWG symbols to convert to the correct FP format, this is a service I can provide.

Okay, thank you. I misunderstood your message. Can a 2D symbol be copy/ pasted into the 3D Workshop from TFP-PRO V2022 Content Library 2D Symbols => Construction Details => Building Details => Detail 07 (insulated....)? That's a lot of lines to draw again if not. Also, I couldn't see where to add text into an object created in the 3D Workshop. Is that possible?

Hi Jeff,
You can't import a constructive detail from the User Library to 3D Workshop Power Tool.
However, you can ungroup and edit it, including the text. If you prefer to do this process using a CAD program, you can import the DWG Constructive Detail, to the workspace or using the Sheet Layout View.
Another workaround to add the constructive detail to your user library => once you import or edit the constructive detail, you can add it to your Custom Library as a template (in my eBook, follow the tutorial "how to create a template" - page 313).

The only CAD program/s I use are the ones related to (or thru) TFP-PRO. I will try your suggested Sheet Layout View work around or the Template workaround. Thanks for mentioning the page in your eBook.
