i am having a tough time keeping the working floor elevation straight.
is the elevation the top of the floor joist assembly or the bottom? it seems some walls come in on top and others come in at the bottom.
is there any way to verify the floor to ceiling height other than using "edit current floor"?
it says 8ft but not sure the actual height because where the wall is set.
an example of a wall for a door

Hi there,
They are not the same concepts.
The Edit Floor informs the elevation of the different floors (first floor, second floor, etc). But, if you set a chair (for example) inside the room, the elevation will be the vertical distance of the chair above the floor (say tiles)

FloorPlan, as any program, has a learning curve. The best way to learn the program, IMO, is practice + practice + practice => Read and follow the manual (this is important), see the videos => try to create elements not related with your project, so you will become familiar with the commands and how to manage the different components and settings.
