I want to make other roofs than hipped roofs. How can I make a shed roof, a double pitch roof or a flat roof.

Right click, select Properties and click the "Roof Shape" icon. You may need to select all edges of the roof depending what type of roof your want. (the red arrow turns green when selected)

OK, how about a Mansard roof that hangs below the floor of the 2nd story? TFP seems very fussy about allowable combinations of roof slope-section angles and heights (TurboFloorPlan home and Landscape Pro v12).
Hi, Welcome to the foum.
I am not quite clear what appearance you are trying to achieve. You mention that you want the roof to come below the floor of the second floor. The roof will always sit at the wall height of the Location it is on, unless it is raised or lowered using the Support Height option in the roof Properties. How you get the look you want will depend on how high the second floor vertical walls are set to on that Location and how far you want to go below the floor level. A combination of wall height, roof height elevation and overhang distance should achieve this but we really need to know just what look you are trying to achieve to be more explicit. Any chance of posting a drawing or even just a rough sketch so we can visualise it?

Ok, I understand about roof support height where it's attached to the wall, but my question is about the overhang - it's not really an overhang, it's more like the roof continues down the walls of the 2nd story, but on a slope, so just covering the exterior walls with shingles won't really do the trick. Here's a photo of what I'm talking about...
To get this effect I think you will have to put the roof on a Location of its own. Create the new Location with a wall height where you want the bottom of the roof to be, then just draw the roof by Picking Points. It will not interact with the rest of the model but will come together in 3D and look right.

I still can't do it - I'm having same problem.
I'm just trying to make a simple, 1-plane shed roof.
I only get hip roofs as the default. I select on opposite sides of the roof and change the shape to gable, which is indeed what I get. There is no choice for shed, flat, or single plane.
I have tried altering the wall heights and then the support settings in the roof properties. I get a roof that starts and ends at the right heights, but still as a 2-plane roof with a peak closer to, and above, the high wall than the lower wall.
I have yet to achieve a single-plane flat or shed roof. Help!
To get a flat (single slope roof) select 3 sides of the roof (the arrows turn green) open the Properties and chage the Hip to Gable (see image). The roof will now slope in one direction.
Next click the red arrow, so it turns green and click each of the other three green arrows so they turn red. Now select the Properties and change the slope to what you want it to be (1 degree is the flattest option). The one green arrow side of the roof will now be a 1 degree slope and the other gable (hence vertical so the roof slopes one way very slightly.

I FINALLY got the hang of flat and shed roofs. The trick was to follow Allan's instuctions, of picking 3 sides and then set the type to gable. I had the darndest time figuring out how to pick 3 sides, until I accidentally learned to click on the ARROWs themselves - not the handle points or the sides. After figuring that out, I was able to do it.
This most simple type of roof is really undocumented in the IMSI material. This procedure could really use a boost in the instructions!
Thanks for the advice on how to make a shed roof. I have been struggling with that for a long time. Your directions worked perfectly. My porch now has a sloping shed roof!
