While replicating a structure and lot for a remodel, TFP locked up while entering floors by room. Now locks up when any element is entered (new walls, etc.) Tried Project Repair as suggested in an earlier post but that caused a lockup also. Have also saved file with a diff. name-same result. Have uninstalled & reinst., redownloaded & reinst., etc. Any ideas? I've used TurboCad since v7 (now up to v12.5) and probably won't upgrade again because I've had many (that's MANY) of the same type issues in the past. This weeks bug is TC won't place doors or windows in walls. Always upgraded thinking that would solve the irratating little glitches - NOT! By the way this version of TFP is for Vista & running in Vista OS.
The usual fix for MOST 'lock-up' situations is to turn off Hardware Acceleration (if you have it on - Settings/Program Settings/ Graphics) as it causes lots of problems on some PCs. Not sure if there are other issues with Vista though.
Is it OK on a new small project? If it is then you could have a corrupt walls somewhere. Zoom in close on all wall joins and make sure they join correctly.
If you can find anything, post the BLD file we can see it if it is OK on other PCs / OSs.

Thanks for the suggestions. Turned off hdw. acc. Still locks up when I click the snap position for floor by room. I don't see any obvious wall problems. I can draw a quick small project from scratch with windows, doors, floor insertions, etc. with no problem. File attached.
Well the good news is - it is not Vista or TFP itself that is the problem as it responds the same way for me (or doesn't respond!!). There is obviously something corrupt in the model itself but it is almost impossible to find out what because when you try to delete suspect items it stops working.
Three things of note:
1. There was no catalog attached to the model, so no objects were available to insert.
2. There appears to be a building on the Foundation layer with just a pointed roof above the terrain. This appears to be an imported object but cannot be selected to delete. What is this? I do not know what effect it is having as it cannot be selected to delete. There are also some non-selectable line - are these a trace image maybe or is it all an imported DXF/3DS object?
3. On the image I have identified a few wall joins that could be a problem. Quite doubtful about the middle one but I cannot delete the wall so cannot prove it.
I cannot offer any other suggestions at the moment (short of starting again). Maybe someone else can find something.

Allan;
Thanks for the effort. I was able to work on some sections of the walls yesterday and did correct the same things you found but when I tried to add anything else to the large open area the same lock up occured.
There is an imported TurboCAD object that was used as a trace image for the lot and bldg. outline. Importing as a trace image in JPG or BMP didn't produce a clear image. The pointed roof is just that. It's a bldg. drawn in another TC file that was imported to the overall layout file. Don't know why only the roof shows in 3D. Probably just have to re-do.
Thanks again .

The roof only shows in 3D if you look at the ground level but if you set the camera to below ground the building is there. I am wondering if it could be part of the problem. Are you able to delete it? I couldn't.
