I am using TurboFloorPlan Home & Gardens Pro Ver 12 on XP SP2
I cannot see how to draw a dormer bungalow; for definition this is more correctly called a "1 1/2 floor" building. In other words full height walls (2.4m-8ft) for ground floor (for USA & Canada please read 1st floor) with much lower height walls for upper floor to provide additional living space which is generally used for bedrooms & bathroom. It means that the normal gutter line height is about at the top of walls for ground floor level.
Generally the only natural light & ventilation on the upper floor is by velux type roof lights/windows or by windows in a gable end both of which I wish to use; or by dormer window/s which I don't wish to use.
I have today followed previous advice from this forum on sloping ceilings on a simple oblong building with success but to complicate things my building has the complication of being 'L' shaped.
A very simple level of advice especially if it included pics/video would be appreciated at my present stage of learning TFP Pro 12.

if I understand OK, try making a two story but make the walls on location of second floor as height you need from 1" to typical 8' or anything in between....sounds like 1" would do what you want...be sure to only put a roof on second floor and not on first floor.
For parts of house different, make second floor walls over only a portion of the first floor...then you will need a roof over that first floor that has no second floor
if that is not a sufficient answer, ask more in a different way?

I had repeatedly tried your idea before asking the question and came to the conclusion I was overlooking something very basic. When I put the roof on to the reduced upper floor level the roof hovered above the structure BUT I WAS USING THE BUILD WIZARD TO CONSTRUCT THE GROUND & 1ST FLOOR. I found that I had to select properties on each wall and chose level wall then reduce the height, I used a trial wall height of 1m for the upper floor.
When I received your answer, which I thank you for, I returned to the problem and built the walls (ground & 1st) without using the wizard and the roof sits correctly on a 200mm upper wall height.
So far so good in my learning of TFP, thanks again; I will be back!!!
