Title: Broderbund 3D Home Architect
Post by: davidovada on April 08, 2008, 10:09:00 AM
Please help me.  I am using Broderbund's 3D Home Architect(version3.0 deluxe).  I want a current version of this program to run on Vista.  I mistakenly purchased, via download, 3D Home Architect from Punch Software.  Not only was it not the same program, it was the worst piece of S#*t I've ever tried to use.  Can anyone verify that Turbo FloorPlan is my beloved old Broderbund program?  If so, I'll download it asap.  Since it is not available in Italy, I'll need to rely on this forum for advice.  Grazie in anticipo.

TurboFLOORPLAN is a scaled down version of CADsoft's Envisioneer and is supposed to be able to open 3D Home Architect's 'bld' file. There have been some problems reported so use the Forum Search to check on that. I switched from 3DHA to FloorPlan 3D many many years ago so I do not know how the current version of 3DHA compares. Someone else may comment on that.

TFP is sold as V12 of FloorPlan 3D and is very similar in many ways and shares many of the dialog boxes but it is even more customisable. It's file output however is not compatable, so 3DHA may be more similar the FP3D.

The FULL version is available as a download trial (works for 14 days) so why not try it out and you will be able to see for yourself. If you are familiar with any of these types of programs you should pick it up very quickly. If you decide to buy it you only have to apply the unlock code - any work you did during the trial period will still be there as you do not need to reinstall.
