How do I get frame all around a dooropening?
henhen
Hi, Welcome to the Forum.
Door and window Trim and Sills are part of wall properties. There is a trim tick box and Trim tab for choosing types etc.

Hi,
I can get baseboard trims to work OK, but the door sill does not show up.
I want the sill to be above the floorlevel (15 mm)

The door sill setting is on the three wall parts, Exterior, Interior left and Interior Right. You may have it set on the wrong one.

Hi,
Thanks,
I have got it to work on the outside walls,
is it possible to make a inside door, so it looks like it has frame all the way around,
not just the sides and the top.

Did you try the sill on the inside walls to get the frame across the door? You should be able to raise it to getthe effect. Or simply place a 'piece of timber' there to look like it. There is a Decorative Member under Interior Accessories / Decorative that you could resize and colour for the purpose.

Hi
It works with the Decorative member, Thanks.
I tried to use sills for the inside doors. Couldn't get it to work.
The sill did not show up or the door disappear.
Thanks for a good forum

Something else that you may not have found yet. Under Interior Accessories, if you right click in the top section of the elements list you can create a new Group (eg Custom Accessories) and then right click in the bottom section and select Add Element. Now you can choose Picture Frames, Rugs, Steps and Shapes. The latter are very useful (a box, cylinder and tube) you can put them together to make all sorts of things. Rugs gives some useful shapes too. Put them together to make your own furniture (or door sills!) etc. If you do put something together like this you can File/Export it as a 3DS (Turn off the Terrain first) and then you can import it (the other radio button on the Add Element dialog) and it becomes a single re-usable object.
I find that it is really only ones imagination that limits what you can do or make.
Have fun!
