I have not imported a Sketch-Up object myself but I would imagine the import is the same as for a 3DS or DXF object.  When it opens and before you save it you should be able to change the Orientation.  In fact you should still be able to change even it after import.  Select the element Properties and change the Y axis from 0 to 180 degree.

I am just able to change the Axe to 1,  11,  111  degrease, so it got stocked and I am not able to increase or decrease the angle of the Y-axis,
The to other axis behave the same way.

I also tried to export the element,- and then import it as a 3ds file,--the same thing happen.
Could it be because I have a wedge shape in the object?

Is it possible to create a wedge shape with the three tools , box cylinder and and tube.

You can easily do this by putting together 2 Box shapes and 2 Triangle 3DS objects. Search the Forum for Triangle.

You can also create your own proflle but so far I have only been able to apply it to Trim and columns. - (File / Catalog / Catalog manager / Library / Profile)

If you work out how to apply it to other things let us know.

Ok,

I sketched up a new 3d shape file, and now the object imported ok, as in the original.

Thanks for you tip, I will try that,

Hi again

I downloaded your 3ds files,
but somehow I can't get them imported,

the program skip the window where  I can choose the block import and goes directly to the properties dialog box
where nothing happens ?

This does not make sense that it skips the window.

You have obviously done this before as you have imported the Sketch-up object so you know how to do it, but, just in case (and it might help someone else):
1.  Select Interior Accessories
2.  Right click in the lower part of the elements window and select Add Element.
3.  In the dialog box that should pop up select 'Import Geometry From File'
4.  Click OK and browse to the file you want to import.

If you did not get the popup window you may have accidentally selected Edit Element instead of Add Element but obviously you checked that.
Do you have Hardware Acceleration on?  If so try turning it off (Setting/Program Settings/Graphics).

If you still have problems try the File/Import/Object Wizard route.  This will put the object into the drawing but you can add them to the catalog later.

It does not work,

I tried also to open it with turbocad 15 deluxe, it says that it is illegal formats,

I am not able to open the jpg files , usefull shapes.

So I don't know if it is the files, the symbol looks OK or it is some issue with my PC.

That seems strange - I use IE all the time (IE7) and have not had any issues like that.

Anyway you got them - that is the main thing!

If you are going to use the traingles to make up your special shape, I presume you know about the Nudge tool? You can set it to just 1mm and then just use the arrow keys on the keyboard to line the pieces up exactly.  Once you have them as you want, just Export them as a 3DS and import again and they will be one object. If you change the colours before export you can then have the ability to change different sections of the object but from what I can see you are doing it would not be necessary.  You probably already know that but just in case...
