this house has 8 ft ceilings - except in the foyer where it is 12ft (what were they thinking!!!)
anyway how do i tell the software to put a roof over this bit extended to the pillars.
i tried by points but it put it on diagonally - but i could not see it in the 3d.
thanks
By Points should work - put it on a suitable height location by itself if necessary.

Sorry - i don't understand - please explain "put it on a suitable height location by itself"
thanks
Sorry was being brief as I was doing the reply on my phone and was getting close to the office - I am on the way home this time!
Under Settings you will find Building Locations. Here you can add another Location (called Foyer or Porch for example). Make all the settings the same as your Ground Floor except the walls - they should be set to 12'. Now switch to your Foyer Location and insert the roof 'By Picking Points'. The roof will not be affected by the Ground Floor walls or any other Locations and will automatically sit at 12.'
The Pillars (or walls with arched openings) can be on either location. May be easier on the Foyer one as the heights will be automatic that way.
Hope that made more sense.
Allan
Thanks
are "walls with arched openings" doable?
No problem at all. Just click Openings / Arched (doorways) or Arched Openings. Set the height and width. Set the Radius to the same as the width and set the Left and Right Leg Heights to get the shape of the arch you require. In the image I put the door way in the wall and then just adjusted the sizes to get the shape. In your case you can measure these dimensions and get it right straight away. On the Foyer Location set the Head Height to the height of your arch - then when you enter the height it will extend the doorway down from that point.
