I sort of got the idea about how to make trace work.
I went out to Google Earth, zoomed into our city property and then did a screen capture of our property area. Took the screen capture into photoshop and cropped it to size BMP. Imported "Trace" and made sure the property length and width values entered. Click dropped it into the work area. Ok so far so good. Used the wall tools to trace around the building perimeter.
QUESTION: Is there a free hand single "rubber band" drawing line trace tool ? I have a backyard water structure that is a unique size and shape. It does not match any of the stock items. Yes, I have searched this forum, and the paper and online Userguide.
GOT IT - Thank you Allan found it in another thread Tools / layout etc. Also I notice the toolbars are UNdockable which is great.. now I can put them on the left monitor.
ARE WE HAVING FUN YET ??
Hi Dave,
Good to hear you got the Trace sorted and yes the Layout and undocable toolbars are great.
I gather YOU are now having fun. I certainly do?
Allan
I like using the 'Floor Tool' for specialized layouts like your water feature. It has the right click / curve ability which many times is needed along with the ability to resize easily. If you create a new location and use the floor tool there, you can easily turn off /on such details.
